"Crown Lengthening: The Periodontist's Perspective"

Dental Consultants are frequently required to review and adjudicate crown lengthening procedures (D4249) from general dentists and periodontists. This presentation will review the published CDT clinical criteria for crown lengthening and discuss the clinical indications and contraindications for this procedure via various case presentations.
Upon completion, attendees will be able to:
• Understand the clinical components that fulfill CDT requirements for crown lengthening
• Understand the clinical indications and criteria for crown lengthening
• Understand the radiographic x-ray image features to support and also deny crown lengthening
James Kohner, DDS is a Periodontist, and a leader in the periodontal world of dental health. He is an expert in the management of periodontal infection using non-surgical methods as well as the latest procedures relating to surgical therapy. He has presented lectures at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and teaches for the Perio Institute (since 2003) on the topics of Crown Lengthening and Soft Tissue Grafting. Dr. Kohner is a regular presenter at many conferences including the ADA Meeting, Greater NY Meeting and California's Annual Session and is a current member the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, and a professional member of the National Speakers Association. He lives in Denver, Colorado.
